The construction of conduits for gas, water, electricity and telecommunications can have major effects upon buried archaeology, not all of which is currently known. We work with you at every stage to minimise those impacts and the costs of archaeological mitigation.

We can produce environmental impact assessments to measure potential impacts and recommend ways of reducing them. We can evaluate the archaeological potential of pipeline corridors by means of trial trenching, drawing on our experience with similar projects and landscapes to predict the probable abundance or scarcity of buried remains along the route. As topsoil stripping and construction begin, we can implement watching briefs and excavate archaeological sites to ensure the project proceeds smoothly, with minimum delay and maximum value to you and the cultural resource.
